Visit Downtown Duluth

When was the last time you spent a day in downtown Duluth?

For many of us, we need to have a specific reason to get motivated and travel down to Superior Street or Lake Ave. Why is that? Is it the fear of parking? Is it reoccurring nightmares involving the Last Place on Earth? Do you get squeamish thinking about the bus stop?

Whatever your excuse is, let me break down a couple of the most common mental barriers.

Bus Stop crowd – four words: the CLEAN AND SAFE TEAM. You know those guys in the bright yellow shirts?  They are paid to make the streets cleaner and safer. I can’t applaud these guys enough for the work they do!

Last Place On Earth – as for LPOE, in case you’ve been living under a rock this past year I’ll bring you up to speed… It’s closed! The sign is down. The zombies have returned to their lairs. The virus is contained!

Parking – we all know about metered parking off street and on the avenues, but are you aware of the plethora of ramps? US Bank & Wells Fargo ramps off Michigan, Holiday Inn off first, Shoppers on 2nd Ave West, Tech Village ramp and the Casino ramp. All of these options are safe and secure and you don’t have to worry about plugging the meter! These are not the ramps of the Twin Cities, they aren’t $15 for a couple of hours. Most are roughly $1 per hour. Next time you’re circling for a spot, try this – circle just once then head towards your nearest ramp… I bet it’s less than a block away.

The purpose of this blog series will be to expose all that Downtown Duluth has to offer. However, before I can tell you all about the good stuff, I need you to have an open mind. Let’s start breaking those stereotypes and exposing what Downtown Duluth is and what Downtown Duluth can be:

AWESOME.
