Duluth Grill
118 S. 27th Ave. W, Duluth, MN
A farm-to-table institution with an actual vegetable garden onsite, Duluth Grill has long been one of the most vegetarian-friendly kitchens in town — veg and vegan items are marked right on the menu, and the staff is happy to adapt. It’s scratch cooking with local, organic sourcing at its core. Come for breakfast or lunch and let them steer you toward the plant-based options of the day.
At Sara’s Table Chester Creek Cafe
1902 E. 8th St., Duluth, MN
A Chester Park fixture since 2002, this family-owned farm-to-fork cafe was cooking local-and-seasonal long before it was trendy. The menu is deeply vegetarian-friendly — think hearty grain bowls, garden-driven plates, and a vegan granola that regulars swear by — all in a warm, unhurried neighborhood room. It’s the kind of comfort that comes from real ingredients and a kitchen that cares.
Va Bene
734 E. Superior St., Duluth, MN
Scratch Italian with an enclosed solarium looking straight out over Lake Superior — and one of the more quietly veg-friendly kitchens in town. Now owned by longtime managers Patrick Moore and Luke Schmitz (the Berarduccis opened it in 2006), Va Bene keeps vegetarian and vegan pasta dishes on the menu that regulars call outstanding, with gluten-free options too. Grab a lakeside table, order a comforting bowl of pasta, and watch the water. Hard to beat.
Juice Pharm
208 E. 1st St., Duluth, MN
Downtown’s 100% plant-based cafe and juice bar. Everything is made to order and fully vegan (and gluten-free), from cold-pressed juices to hearty kitchen plates. It’s proof that plant-based can be genuinely craveable comfort food. When you want to eat clean and still feel taken care of, this is the spot.
Hungry Hippie Tacos
1810 W. Superior St., Duluth, MN
Lincoln Park’s taco favorite is quietly one of the best veg-friendly stops around, with house-made puffy shells and plant-based fillings that don’t feel like an afterthought. Casual, bold, and satisfying — exactly the kind of comfort food you want after a day of exploring the Craft District. Load up and don’t be shy about it.
Love Creamery
1908 W. Superior St., Duluth, MN (Lincoln Park)
No comfort-food list is complete without dessert, and Love Creamery — woman-owned and small-batch — always keeps vegan scoops in the case alongside the dairy. Creative, high-quality, and award-winning, it’s the perfect sweet ending to a plant-based day. Get a flight if you can’t decide; we never can.
