There’s nothing more exciting than watching new locally owned spots pop up around the Twin Ports. We’ve been keeping a close eye on the openings and reopenings of the last year-and-a-half, and the list is full of places that feel like pure Duluth. Bean & Bear Bagel
202 S. 26th Ave. W., Duluth, MN
The team behind Ursa Minor Brewing just opened this grab-and-go bagel spot on August 19, 2026, and we already love the energy. Fresh homemade bagels, a solid lineup of cream cheeses, and good coffee — exactly what Lincoln Park needed for breakfast. Open 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. We can’t wait to make this a regular morning stop.
Voyageur Donuts
394 S. Lake Ave., Ste 106 (DeWitt-Seitz Marketplace), Duluth, MN
Opened fall 2025 in Canal Park and now fully into its first summer season. Cake donuts made fresh daily (including fun savory options like the hot dish donut and basil pesto), plus coffee from local Underwood. Dog-friendly patio makes it even better. Perfect for a Lakewalk fuel-up.
Sabor by Pedro’s
1608 Woodland Ave., Duluth, MN
The Pedro’s team (already beloved in Cloquet and Superior) brought this extension to Woodland in summer 2026. Think authentic Mexican flavors — ceviche, tacos, chimichangas, steak-and-shrimp platters — in a neighborhood that was craving exactly this. We’re glad they made the jump.
Sol Cafe
4721 E. Superior St., Duluth, MN
Chef Antony Gor moved from popular pop-ups to a permanent Lakeside home. Expect Hong Kong-style breakfast and lunch: congee with youtiao, milk-bread French toast with milk-tea custard, Spam egg sandwiches, wonton noodle soup, and more. A welcome new flavor for the east side.
Underwood Coffee
301 W. 1st St. (Board of Trade Building), Duluth, MN
Local roaster Jake Underwood finally opened his own café in June 2026 after years of supplying beans all over town. Drip, espresso drinks, matcha, and baked goods in a sunny historic corner space. We’ve been drinking his coffee for years — having a home base downtown feels right.
A & Dubs (Reopened)
3131 W. 3rd St., Duluth, MN
The classic Lincoln Park drive-in is back under new local owners after a two-year pause. Same beloved burgers, fish & chips, fries, and ice cream with car-side service. Summer wouldn’t feel the same without it.
